Device Setup
The "Golden Flow" to configuring your station hardware.
Device Setup (The Golden Flow)
Configuring a station requires a specific order of operations to ensure all dependencies are met. Follow this Golden Flow:
1. CommPorts (The Highway)
Before adding devices, you must define how we talk to them.
- Navigate to Settings > CommPorts.
- Click Add Port.
- Port Name: e.g.,
COM1. - Baud Rate: Match your hardware (Gilbarco is typically
5787or9600). - Parity/Stop Bits: Standard is
None / 1.
2. Tanks (The Source)
Pumps need a source to draw fuel from.
- Navigate to Settings > Tanks.
- Add Tank.
- Geometry: Enter Diameter and Length.
- Port: Assign the
Probe ServiceCommPort if you have an ATG (Automatic Tank Gauge).
3. Fuels (The Product)
Define what you are selling.
- Navigate to Settings > Fuels.
- Add Fuel.
- Name: e.g., "Diesel", "95 Octane".
- Color: Assign a color for UI visualization (Green for Diesel, Red for Gas).
- Unit Price: Set the current selling price.
4. Pumps (The dispenser)
Finally, link it all together.
- Navigate to Settings > Pumps.
- Add Pump.
- Communication:
- Port: Select the CommPort created in Step 1.
- Channel/Address: The physical address set on the dispenser dip-switches.
- Nozzle Config:
- For each nozzle on the pump, assign a Tank (from Step 2) and a Fuel (from Step 3).
- Example: Nozzle 1 -> Tank 1 (Diesel).
Success: Once configured, the Pump icon on the dashboard should turn Green (Idle). If it remains Grey or Red, check the CommPort wiring.
